Profile: A. Frank Donaghue
NPH USA’s President and Chief Executive Officer brought over 30 years of experience to the organization.
Frank joined the NPH family on July 9, 2012. He brought over 30 years of fundraising and leadership experience in the nonprofit sector to NPH USA. Most recently, he was CEO of Physicians for Human Rights located in Boston, MA, and Washington D.C. His prior experience included tenure with YMCA Philadelphia & Vicinity as their President and CEO and with After-School All-Stars in Los Angeles, also as President and CEO.Frank spent almost 20 years with the American Red Cross. His roles for the American Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, D.C., included Vice President of Development and Executive Vice President for Communications, Marketing & Policy. He also served in several positions for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross in Philadelphia, PA, including as Chief Executive Officer, a position that he held for 12 years.
An accomplished strategist, Frank has demonstrated management expertise both domestically and internationally. He has a proven background in growing resources and services and in increasing brand awareness in the many markets where he has worked. Frank Donaghue holds a BA degree from St. Fidelis College, an MA degree from Seton Hall and an MS degree in Organizational Dynamics from University of Pennsylvania. He has served on several boards of directors, has many community affiliations and has taught at Drexel and Temple universities.
When he accepted the position, Frank stated, “Helping NPH USA to increase support for the great work of the Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos children’s homes is a great fit for my personal goals and professional background. I am excited by this opportunity to be of service to disadvantaged children in Latin America, and humbled to join the wonderful Friends and NPH family of dedicated supporters, sponsors, staff and volunteers.”
Frank currently resides in Chicago, IL. He sponsors five children and has visited the homes in El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras and Mexico.
