It is with great joy and excitement that we can announce that the newly constructed Kenscoff Kitchen is now operational. This project, which started as a way to move the hardworking kitchen staff of the St. Helene Orphanage into a more suitable and beautiful environment, has finally come to light. Our wonderful staff diligently prepares over 1,000 meals a day for the children and staff of the NPH home. It is with great pleasure that we can say that they have already moved into the newly constructed, spacious kitchen and that they couldn’t be happier.

The official inauguration of the kitchen took place Sunday, August 30th, 2015 by Father Rick Frechette and Sister Bonite, the House Director. A commencement ceremony blessed the staff and their new place of work. The opening of this new kitchen could not have come at a better time. Several hiccups have delayed its operations over the past several months, but in the end God’s timing has prevailed. Currently, NPH Haiti is transitioning some of its children from the Father Wasson’s Angles of Light program up to the flagship St. Helene home. Transitions can be hard and put extra strain on staff members such as our cooks. The new kitchen will enable them to serve everyone with a greater capacity.

We don’t always know where the road will take us, but we can celebrate along the way and especially when generous support meets good intentions only to see something wonderful built. We want to offer a warm thank you to all the donors and staff who made this day a reality. NPH Haiti is blessed to have your support. With happy hearts the kitchen is now operational, and it only seems fit to say “Bon Apetit.”
