Molly's Shoe Drive
Molly Hightower and Jolene in Haiti.Thank you for being one of the thousands of people who helped to make Molly’s dream a reality.

When Molly Hightower started a shoe drive in November, she hoped to collect 300 pairs of shoes for the orphans and children with disabilities who she worked with at NPH/NPFS (Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos/Nos Petits Freres et Soeurs, Spanish and French for “Our Little Brothers and Sisters”) in Haiti. Before giving her life for her work with these children during the 7.0 magnitude earthquake on January 12, Molly had collected about 400 pairs.

Thanks to your generosity, Molly’s family collected more than 180,000 pairs of shoes for the people of Haiti. We recently received word that the shoes have begun arriving in Haiti. One of our volunteers in Haiti wrote to tell us that they were so excited when the first shipment arrived at St. Damien’s Hospital. The photos below show the shoes being unloaded at St. Damien’s by staff and former pequeños, and preparing them for distribution to our other programs in Haiti: the orphanage in Kenscoff, our special needs program at Kay Germaine, the Angels of Light day camp for children in the tent cities, and to our former pequeños. Molly’s mission has lived on because of you!

More than 175,000 pairs of shoes have been collected!        Crates of shoes ready for shipment to Haiti
