On September 20, 2013, the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast Office hosted its first ever Gala event up in Beverly, MA. The evening was filled with delicious food, a silent auction, beautiful dance performances from our visiting pequenos from NPH Mexico and good friends. We successfully raised nearly $30,000 (which include 9 new child sponsorships) at the event, and with the 2013 Flatley Foundation Match, that amount will be doubled!
NPH USA would like to thank all of the Gala Committee members who dedicated so much of their time, efforts, and resources to ensure such a successful event. We would especially like to thank our committee co-chairs: Barbara Kelley and Dr. Brian Orr for their tireless time and efforts on behalf of this event and the children of NPH.
Good Shepherd Parish
NPH USA and our visiting pequeños from NPH Mexico would like to wholeheartedly thank Good Shepherd Parish, its community members, and our loving host families: the Hughes, Prunier, Ferreira and Paglia families who so graciously opened up their homes to our visiting guests during last month’s pequeño tour. The weekend of September 21st and 22nd was filled with beautiful traditional songs performed during Masses, lovely testimonials, and wonderful dance performances out on the foyer after Mass. The evening on September 21st, we celebrated our visitors with a lovely parish pot luck dinner.
A very special thank you to Lucy Prunier, Jody Pongratz, and Fr. Jim Laughlin for helping to make this pequeño tour so incredibly successful within the Good Shepherd Parish Community. We were able to raise over $7,800 in second collection donations and and welcomed 2 new child sponsorships! We look forward to a continued relationship with Good Shepherd Parish for many years to come!

Holy Family Parish
NPH USA and our visiting pequeños from NPH Mexico would like to wholeheartedly thank Holy Family Parish for yet again so graciously welcoming our visiting NPH guests for a 3rd year in a row now! This year, Holy Family Parish not only hosted our pequeños from NPH Mexico, but also participated in a month long sponsorship drive to help support our child sponsorship program. Thanks to the generous support of so many parish members, we were able to raise over $10,500 in new sponsorships, and nearly $8,000 in second collection donations!
We would especially like to thank our host families: the O’Neill, Naton, Quigley, and Richardson families for so graciously and lovingly opening up their homes to our visiting pequenos while they were in town. We would also like to thank Fr. Bob Deehan, Deacon Dan Burns, Mary Keefe, and Catherine Kelleher for helping to make this week as successful as it was.

Pequeños from NPH Mexico visit Cardinal Sean O’Malley and Archdiocese of Boston
On September 24th, NPH USA and our visiting pequeños from NPH Mexico were invited to participate in a Mass at the Archdiocese of Boston, and were also granted a unique opportunity to meet with and perform dances for Cardinal Sean O’Malley and staff members within the Archdiocese. The pequeños performed lovely traditional dances and were able to present Cardinal Sean with a singed portrait of the group. They were able to spend time conversing with the Cardinal in Spanish, and greatly enjoyed the interaction. We would like to thanks Cardinal Sean O’Malley and the Archidiocese of Boston for welcoming our pequenos and helping to make the visit such a memorable event.
Pequeños Perform at Landmark School for 2nd Year in a Row!
NPH USA would like to thank the Landmark school for again welcoming our visiting pequeños to their campus for a memorable and enjoyable performance. The Landmark School has been dedicated to the NPH mission for the past 2 years through their child sponsorship of Carlos from Honduras, and the school fundraisers that they host in support of NPH. This year, our visiting group from NPH Mexico joined the Landmark community for a morning of performances, and shared lunch with the students. A special thank you to Anna DiPerna and Robert Kahn for their continued dedicated to the mission of NPH.
This performance was a “kick off” the Landmark’s fall fundraising efforts for NPH.
2nd Annual Glen Urquhart School Family Fiesta
NPH USA would like to thank the Glen Urquhart School (GUS) for their continued dedication to NPH and the children that we support. On October 2nd, the Glen Urquhart School hosted its 2nd annual Family Fiesta event on campus to celebrate and support our NPH visitors from Mexico. This year, the GUS School community helped to donate over $2,800 to support our NPH homes and more than 150 guests attended the event to learn more about NPH and its programs! We also gained 3 new sponsorships at the event!
The GUS School has been committed to the mission of NPH for over 7 years and counting. Each year through the leadership and guidance of Sra. Barbara Kelley, 8th graders from the school travel down to various NPH homes for week long service trips. In addition, the school support 3 children through our child sponsorship program, and host various in-school fundraisers for NPH throughout the year. We would like to wholeheartedly thank the GUS School community for their continued support and look forward to many more years of this continued relationship.
Donnelly House Event
NPH USA would like to thank regional board member Chris Donnelly and his wife Carolyn for so graciously opening up their home to our visiting pequeños from NPH Mexico for an evening learning about NPH’s mission and program, while also enjoying a lovely dance performance from our visiting guests. We thank the Donnelly family for the lovely evening filled with delicious food, and great conversation about NPH!
